Impossible Card Anyone???

I have been having some fun creating Impossible Cards with the Petal Palette Set.
This card with a stand up piece in the centre is made from one piece of cardstock.

Here it is from all the different angles.
Front

Side Back

And this is how I made mine. Everything is in centimetres except for one measurement outlined below. Start with a 15cm x 10.5cm piece of cardstock. Score down the centre on the short side. To get an exact measurement I converted to inches. 10.5cm = 4.2" Therefore I scored at 2.1" You could score at 10.3cm as it would be very close.

On the top Mark a point half way along the long side at 7.5cm and draw a line to meet the centre score line.
On the bottom mark a point at 3cm and at 12cm and draw a line to meet the centre score line.

Now cut down each of the three lines to the centre score line as shown.
You have two short pieces on o…

Floral Phrase in Yellow

Image
Featuring: Floral Phrases, Jar of Love
It is no secret that I find yellow on cards so uplifting. To me yellow is my "happy" colour.  I have anxiety and I have found yellow to be very uplifting and a positive colour choice.
Some people might find this bright Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie colours a bit too much. But I love it. But even if the colours aren't your 'cup of tea'- the card and technique I used could easily be used with your favourite colour combination.

I love how easy this card was. I just used my sponge daubers to sponge ink onto the Floral Phrases flower and stamped in a pattern across my Whisper white card.

Then I layered another piece on top with my sentiment and just two images stamped.
I used some leaves and flowers from Jar of Love for a little floral bouquet.
And the hearts are a framelit in the Jar of Love set.
I popped some Tangerine Tango behind the top whisper white piece and used it for a little pop of colour where needed.

I hope this …

Just Peachey

Featuring: Bold Butterfly Framilits, Petal Palette, Salebration Springtime Foil dsp

Still using up this glorious Saleabration dsp (retired).
Along with Peekaboo Peach - retiring In Colour
and Butterfly from Bold Butterfly Framelits.

I love doing this peekaboo design with acetate on the front of a card. It gives the focal point a kind of "floating" look.

Don' forget these won't be around for too much longer. While stocks last.  New Catalogue starts 1st June. Have a great week Vx.

Bye Bye Butterfly

Image
Featuring: Butterfly Thinlets, Bold Butterfly Framelits, Salebration dsp 2018, Special technique

Here is a card that was a big hit at a recent card class.
Simple and fun but really effective.
We brayered the Lemon Lime Twist ink onto the specialty gloss dsp and coloured some of the leaves with a Blushing Bride Marker.
A little blast from the Heat Gun helped the ink to dry quickly. (it doesn't take long if you want to wait).

Sadly, this gorgeous butterfly, made from two sets (the Bold Butterfly and the Butterfly Thinlets)
is retiring soon.
I do love a nice butterfly, don't you?

This easy technique reminds me of a button hole?
Don't you think it should be called that? The button holeTechnique? hehe.

The one important tip is to make sure you have a really strong adhesive holding your element that is going to be going through the hole in the card.
I found our Stampin Up adhesive Tear n tape the best for this.

And bonus!
This photo is a little dark but the card is really prett…

Flower shop final hurrah.

Image
Featuring: Birthday Blossoms, Recessed card.

With only a limited time left to purchase these products I thought I would showcase them.
I love, love, love Birthday Blossoms and the match Pansy Punch going to miss them a lot.
These flowers are coloured with Tempting Turquoise which is a retiring colour.

And then another card using this stamp set and punch.
It is called a Recessed Card (for obvious reasons. lol.) you create a little angled recess.
I have used Soft Skye for the blue here and that is retiring too. boohoo....or should that be bluehoo???haha.

Have a great week Vx.

Hello fellow crafters.
Thought it was time to do a post about major things happening in the Stampin Up World...
First cab off the rank...

Retiring Lists are up and you can pop over to my shop and view all the stamps and products retiring this year.
Remember it is while stocks last so the sooner you order the better you have of getting that purchase.
Some items that are bundled in the catalogue (10% off) are returning but not as a bundle so you won't be able to get the 10% discount if you wait till the new catalogue.

Some true (good ol') standbys are leaving and I will be sad to say goodbye to Birthday Blossoms, Awesomely Artistic, Butterfly Basics, Thoughts and Prayers, Teeny Tiny Sentiments among others. The Holly Berry Punch/ Pansy Punch and the Butterfly framelits sigh.

Bye bye Butterfly Basics... Bye Bye Flower shop.

Plus we are losing 13 colours from our Core colour families (more on that below) so if you are in love with some of these colours in cardstock/ink/ribbons etc…

Roses and Petal Passion

Image
Featuring: Petal Passion, Rose Wonder stamp, watercolouring, Painted with Love Designer paper, Stampin Up, Occasions Catalogue 2018, colouring.

These two cards started out with the designer papers.

Firstly I had some Petal Passion dsp left and so I coloured some of the flowers and cut them out. Then I stamped the Petal Palette roses on the card front as well.
A bit more designer paper and it was done.
I used the Stampin Blends for colouring the flowers.

The other piece of designer paper I had was from Painted with Love. I wanted a large flower for the centrepiece of my card so pulled out my Rose Wonder Stamp. I heat embossed in white craft ink and white embossing powder then water coloured with my aquapainter and some inks.
I kept adding colours until I was happy with it and felt it blended in with the Painted with Love dsp.

I used the Petal Pairs embossing folder behind it and added a frame I made with some Gold Foil card and a square framelit.
Colouring is relaxing in every form. M…

Image
Featuring: Waterfront, Occasions Catalogue 2018, Stampin Up

Today we are going on a travel experience ... With the Waterfront stamp set ....
without even leaving the comfort of your own chair...

it can take you to Sunset on an Island paradise.

Or Sunrise in the cool mountain country.

Or even to a Japanese landscape with the Cherry blossoms. ( with a bit of help from blossoms from Colourful Seasons stamp set).

Now how versatile is that!!!

Such a fun set to play with, and so many scenes in one stamp set.

Have a great week Vx.

Blue Jar of Love

Image
Featuring: Jar of Love, Everyday Jar Framelits, Easel Card, Stampin Up

Lots of lovely blues for a 'Blue Birthday Girl'!

I seem to be on an Easel Card tangent at the moment. LOL. But you have to admit an Easel Card is a great way to 'step it up'.

Colours used: Night of Navy, Pool Party, Emerald Envy and Daffodil Delight. (Jar is stamped in Smoky Slate)
(Designer paper is retired)

Gotta say how easy it is to use this set.
Makes every card look beautiful.
I love it!

Touch of sparkles and Wink of Stella is all it needed.
Have a great week. Vx

Stylish Truly Tailored

Image
Featuring: Truly Tailored,True Gentleman designer paper, Tailored Tag Punch, Special Folds, Stampin Up

I have been busy with the Truly Tailored Suite this week.
Here is a couple of special fold cards for you.
Z-Fold card.
cut the glasses out of the designer paper.
little enamal shape stars in dapper denim.
 Opened up.
The Balloon is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.
I wanted the words from this stamp in the Truly Tailored Stamp set - but they just didn't fit properly.
So - I cut them up!
Now they fit perfectly top and bottom. lol.

This next card was inspired by Debbie Henderson? I loved the way the four fold outs show off a lot of our lovely designer paper in this card. It is really the centrepiece of the whole thing.
Punch a hole in the front piece to thread the ribbon through, to help secure it.
When it is all opened out.
I cut out little glasses and bow ties from the designer paper and added them to the pages.

And a place to right your greeting.
Just to show you the ribbon …
