Vintage Heartfelt Blooms

Image
Featuring: Heartfelt Blooms, vintage style, Sponge dauber, colouring techniques, watercolour pencils, Stampin Up, cardsonthetablewithvicki

I was pleasantly surprised when I decided to try colouring my Saleabration Heartfelt Blooms stamp.
I admit to feeling a bit lazy and decided I would try doing it with Sponge Daubers. Just literally daubing the colour on...
and guess what?
It worked better than I had hoped!
I just loved the way it turned out and I hope you do too.

I used Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Tranquil Tide. I stamped in Night of Navy.
The little dragonflies are from the Detailed Dragonfly thinlets set.
Fresh Florals Designer paper stack paper.

Flushed with my success I decided I would try the more traditional way and use some watercolour pencils.
This time I stamped in Archival Black ink and then added the colour with the watercolour pencils and an aquapainter.  pink, purple, yellow, green

Card stock - Fresh Fig and Sweet Sugarplum

Dragonfly Dreams meets Painted with Love

Image
Featuring: Dragonfly dreams stamp set, Detailed Dragonfly thinlets, Painted with Love designer paper, Special Folds, Technique Cards, Calendar Card, Stampin Up, Cardsonthetablewithvicki

It isn't too late to make calendar cards is it?????
Well it is only February...we do have 10 more months to go so I think it is still acceptable. hehe.

And I just couldn't resist making this with the new Painted with Love specialty designer paper from the Occasions catalogue 2018.
I was inspired to use my Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and thinlets from demonstrator Gail Ellis.
I am really bad at neglecting my stamps when something new appears so it is really good to mix it up using things from all the current catalogues.

The flowers are from the Petal Palette set and the words from Waterfront (both in the Occasions 2018 catalogue.
This little calendar card is just so quick and easy to put together.
I
have a normal black card base and just added a piece to the bottom.
10.5cm x 8cm. scored at 2, 4…

Island dreaming....

I have been having lots and lots of fun with the new Waterfront set.
It is so versatile and every scene you create is different.

I took this photo on a very dull day and had to lighten it so you can't see that the background piece done with the Seaside Embossing Folder is actually Soft Sky not white.
I teamed it up with Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight.

The words wouldn't quite fit where I wanted them on the oval piece as you can see, so I created a little banner with some acetate and stamped on it to make an overlay.

Still on the "yellow obsession" hehe. I have used some Colour Theory designer paper with Bermuda Bay card stock.
 (stamp greeting is non SU)

Happy Birthday is from Vertical Greetings. p.50 of the main catalogue. This is the perfect set for when you need your greetings to stamp vertically not horizontally.

Heartfelt Blooms 2018

Image
(Featuring: Heartfelt Blooms, Saleabration 2018, Stampin Up)

Having a bit of fun with a very pretty Saleabration 2018 Stamp Set. Only available till March 31st. This stamp is a new concept call Disinktive stamps by Stampin Up.
(They have two others. The Baby Bear stamp p.110 main catalogue and the bunny stamp Sweet little Something in the Occasions catalogue p. 40.)
It has a photographic style to it, giving the stamped image more depth. When you look at the stamp it appears quite flat though and I certainly didn't believe I would get such a detailed image from it.
Was I wrong!! lol.

First card is stamped in Crumbcake and Flirty Flamingo ink.
Words are from Waterfront Stamp set in the Occasions catalogue.

Next up I tried Smoky Slate and Bermuda Bay together.

Very pretty. Do you like the glitter enamel dots? They remind me of opals with their sparkly colours.

Tip for stamping.
The trick to getting a good image with this kind of stamp is to make sure your ink pad isn't too inky.…

Moon Baby

Image
(Featuring: Moon Baby, Stampin Up)

I have always loved Moon Baby Stamp set (p.106 main catalogue). So when friends and relatives started making baby announcements I knew it was time to finally make the purchase!

This stamp set has many possibilities and never disappoints.
It is just fun to use from start to finish.
Aren't these the cutest?!

For the background on this card I used the large acrylic block. Coloured with Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Yellow markers. Spritzed with water and then "stamped" onto the cardstock. (Shimmer card is good for this technique). The bow is from Holly Berry Happiness p.118 Main Cat.)

The background on the main strip of this card is just sponged with Wisteria Wonder and Blushing Bride ink. Clouds are from Lift Me Up (p.58 Main Cat.)

and here is a photo of 'my baby' lol. Relaxing on the verandah at the Farmhouse.

Thanks for stopping by... see you all again next week...Vx

Celebrate Eclipse Cards!

Image
Featuring: Eclipse Card technique, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Saleabration 2018, Celebrate You Thinlits dies, Stampin Up

Have you seen the Eclipse Cards? A fun technique I have been wanting to try, when I received my Saleabration - Celebrate You Thinlits,I just had to give it a go.

You basically cut out your words/numbers/shapes and raise them up with Foam adhesive strips. You have a dark colour cardstock layered behind the cut out words to give an eclipse effect.

My first try I used Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set p.77 Main catalogue. I stamped all the flowers across Whisper White, then cut out the word Celebrate and raised it up with the Foam strips.

Colours used: Tempting Turquoise, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz.
(the bigger middle pieces of letters look better glued down to the base e.g. "b" and "a" I glued the centre pieces to the black card exposed.)

Still playing around with this idea. I made a Split Card. Usi…

AND A BIG HAPPY 2018 TO EVERYONE!
I am slowly making my way back into blogging and posting after a nice little Christmas break.
And most exciting news...A new Catalogue - the Occasions Catalogue has started and Saleabration as well! Yay! Who doesn't love getting extras.
On page 23 of the Occasions Catalogue you will see this lovely black and white designer paper - Petal Passion dsp.
I have been having a bit of colouring fun with it. Using the designs on the paper I have coloured with my Stampin Blends - Old Olive and Pink Pirouette (you get a light and dark of each colour) - they are the only ones I have used and you can see the different shades you get even with just two colours. Pretty cool. Easy to use - especially for a beginner like me. hehe.

I just coloured and cut out this large flower and leaves fr…
