Delightful Daisy special fold.

Featuring - (Daisy Delight Stamp set and punch and Delightful Daisy Designer paper - Special fold)

The very first product suite I wanted in the new catalogue was this one.
page 126.
You just have to check it out.

I love everything about it and as you know I am always looking for the "easy way" and using a Suite is a perfect solution for "what goes with what?"

So because I love this all so much I felt I needed an extra special fold card to help showcase some of the beautiful features.
Using Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White Card stock.
Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight Ink.

Here is the front of the card. Isn't that new Double-stitched Ribbon gorgeous.

Then we open the front.

Do you like the way I have created the Happy Birthday. Using the words from Number of Years Stamp set p.178?
I just repeated my stamping down the piece of Whisper White, stamping the word Happy in Night of Navy twice before re inking.

The surprise fold is when you lift up this Happy Birthday page to reveal another.
TaDa!!

Have a beautiful birthday sentiment is from Birthday Blossoms p.80.

This set really is a delight to use. (pun intended hehe.)

and finally a real one from my garden.
(Don't forget if you would like your own Daisy Delight Suite and you live in Australia you can always shop with me.) I have added a link on the right hand side.

Love having you stop by. Come again soon. Vx

Who is hiding in the daisies?

featuring - (Daisy Delight, Pretty Kitty)

Firstly - A few words on creativity. Musings from the Craft table....

Do you ever get a "crafting block"?
A time when you struggle to create?
This is certainly me at times and when I do I use other peoples creations to inspire and motivate me. There is no shame in CASEing (Copy and Share Everything). Copying a project or just using it as a point of reference is a great way to get your creative juices flowing. I do try to always give credit to the original creators if at all possible. I think that is important and polite.

I saw this marvellous colour combo using Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide - (two of the beautiful new in colours this year) and the Daisy Delight stamp set on Pinterest and just had to make my own card using them. (original card made by the talented Sandra Mastello another Australian Demo).

Patterned paper from the Colour Theory Paper Stack and the Delightful Daisy Designer Paper.
Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide card stock and ink.
Daisy Delight Stamp Set and Daisy Punch.

I had this cute little Pretty Kitty image left over from my previous card making and it was just calling out for me to pop up onto the Berry Burst Daisy. hehe. Who could resist that sweet little face?

Where to look for Inspiration and Ideas?
Pinterest is my Number One Stop on the Inspiration Train. Number Two is some favourite blogs. Number Three is the Stampin Up Catalogues and Number Four is getting together with some fellow crafty friends.
I can usually find plenty of ideas to get me started from these areas.

Sometimes motivation is the problem...and when this appears to be the stumbling block I do two things.
First I clean up my craft table. (if I am not motivated I can bet money my craft table is untidy. lol.)  A clean and tidy space to play is always a great motivator for me...it gives me that blank canvas to begin filling with creativity all over again...don't you just love that?! Sometimes just cleaning my craft area is all I need to do.
And second I just start. Yep sometimes I just need to actually pick up a stamp and start stamping to get me motivated. crazy hey? but it works for me.
Pablo Picasso said " I begin with an idea, and then it becomes something else."
and I couldn't have said it better myself. haha. The idea may be very very small, it may be even someone else's but it is a beginning and that is what we need to do - just begin. (grin).

Well, if you are still here, after my little motivational side ramblings, thank you for sticking with me.

It has been very cold and wet today and I am sitting at the computer typing this wearing about 6 layers of clothes and a blanket over my legs. LOL. I actually love this type of weather because it makes me want to just stay inside and craft all day.  Who else likes wet weather days for crafting??
At least the garden is getting a good soaking.

Thanks for stopping by. Come again soon. Vx

Pretty Kitty Shaker Card

Featuring: ( Pretty Kitty Stamp Set, Shaker Card)

June the 1st has come and gone and this means the brand new catalogue 2017-2018 is now available to view online. Make sure you check it out. You can click on the catalogue image on my blog on the left hand side and it will take you to the pdf.
There are some awesome new products!

Another Shaker Card to share with you. I have used the Pretty Kitty Stamp Set which is still in the new catalogue (phew) and some retired designer paper.

This time I cut a square using my framelits in the Soft Sky cardstock.
Attached some Acetate underneath.
Then used my Foam Adhesive Strips around the edge.

Placed my sequins and shapes inside.
Peeled off tape from top of Foam Adhesive Strips and attached the pretty patterned designer paper.
Attached this entire piece to Old Olive Base card.

On the outside of the card have used strips of Blushing Bride with my greetings stamped on.
The Pretty Kitty stamp has been coloured and cut out.

Square frame is 6.5cm x 6.5cm in a 14cm x 10cm Soft Sky cardstock.
Acetate for inside is 8cm x 8cm
Patterned paper is 8.5cm x 8.5cm
Card base 21cm(scored at 10.5cm) x 15cm Old Olive.

just purrrrrfect!

Thanks for stopping by. Come back again soon. I think it is time to break open some new products to show.

Swimming by

Featuring: Seaside Shore Stamp Set and Acetate Window Card

Hey there, If you caught my last blog post you may recognise this next card I am going to show you.

Another Seaside Shore "acetate window card".
This time I rotated the design 90 degrees and turned it into a landscape design.

The measurements for the card:
Base card- Dapper Denim - 15.5cm x 15cm - score down at 10.5cm along the 15.5cm side.
Acetate - 5cm x 15cm
End piece 2.2cm
Embossed pieces : Marina Mist - 5cm x 15cm
                               Dapper Denim - 2cm x 15cm
White insert: 14.5cm x 10.2cm

I chose to ink the stamps in individual colours instead of stamping in black and colouring each one with Stampin Write markers, like I did last time.
It worked just as well, I think.

Products used: Cardstock: Dapper Denim, Marina Mist and Whisper White
Ink: Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, Crumbcake, Emerald Envy, Black.
Embossing Folder: Seaside
Stamp Set: Seaside Shore
Acetate, Pearls and Wink of Stella.

Thanks for stopping by. Vx

By the Seaside Shore

Featuring: Seaside Shore, Acetate Window Card

Can you believe it is only days away until the new 2017-2018 Catalogue goes Live!
So exciting!
While it is a little sad to be saying goodbye to some favourites...it is also nice that some are still going to be staying around.
Including this little wonder...Seaside Shore Stamp set.
Admittedly I have come a "little late to the party" of being in love with this set...but now I am totally on board and "whooping it up" so to speak.
So many possibilities for techniques and truly a great all rounder set for just about every age.
Here is a card we did a couple of weeks ago.

It has an acetate panel in the front so you can see through to the inside.

I have used Basic Gray for my base card and Sahara Sand for the top layer.
Sahara Sand pieces are embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder.
The acetate is attached between the two layers.

Inside was a lot of fun stamping  and a bit of colouring with the Stampin Up markers.

To add some dimension I have stamped, cut and then layered the fish, seaweed and "Ahoy There" onto the front of the card.
Retired tag punch was used for the tag.

And as you may remember I have been away for a week and half on holiday in Adelaide, South Australia. It was so pretty down there. Lots of old buildings and beautiful Autumn colours (something we don't get a lot up in Queensland). I just loved the yellow, oranges and red leaves on the trees everywhere. Even got to visit Government House on their annual Open Day. That is me sitting on a chair just before I got asked "please don't sit on the furniture" by a nice security person. Whoops! hehe.

Now it is back to reality. So much to stamp and never enough time... do you feel that too??

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back next week. With some brand new items from the brand new catalogue! Yay!! Vx

Shaker Shaker Fun

Featuring: Shaker Card, Papillion Potpourri, Petite Petals

I haven't done Shaker cards for such a long time.
But now that Stampin Up sell Foam Adhesive Strips I think it is time I started making some.
These Adhesive Strips (main catalogue p.182) make it so easy.

With less than a month before the new catalogue starts I thought I would use some of my favourites that are retiring.
Blooms and Bliss designer paper. This is the last little piece I had left from my two packs.
Petite Petals and Papillion Potpourri stamp sets and matching punches. Oh how I am going to miss these two sets!
Colours : Mint Macaron, Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugarplum.

I made my shaker card using the square framelits from the Stitched Shapes for my top layer.

Here are the layers to make the shaker which is a seperate piece.
1.  I cut out a frame using two sizes of the square stitched shapes framelits.
2.Then acetate slightly smaller than frame attached with white glue.
3.Place your Foam strips around the edges of the acetate so there are no gaps.
4. Pop in your little bits and pieces. I used some butterflies and sequins.
5. Then attach your designer paper square (same size as top framelit) to the frame. Now your shaker is ready to be attached to the front of your card.

 Super Easy Fun!

Here is the inside.

I am off to Adelaide for a week so will be a little late posting my next card.
But will have some photos to share I am sure of my little adventure when I get back.
Hope you can pop back soon.

Dragonfly Dream of a Card Fold

Featuring: Dragonfly Dreams, Grateful Bunch Stamps, Petal Burst EF, Special 3-Fold Card)

A special card for a special friend.
I had so much fun with the layout of this card.

When you open the front piece you find this inside...
Then you lift up that layer and you have your final greeting.
Such fun!
What I have done is create a card folded lengthways and then added an extra piece.
(You could of course cut this from one layer of A4 cardstock) but I already had cardstock cut and waste not want not as the saying goes.

I will have to make another one now out of one piece just to show you that I can. LOL. Stay tuned.

Cardstock: Sweet Sugarplum and Very Vanilla.
DSP-Falling in Love (all Occasions catalogue)
Stamps: Grateful Bunch
Beautiful You and Balloon Adventures ( all Occasions catalogue)
Dragonfly Thinlets
Delicate Doilies

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back soon.

Double Z Fold meets Card in the Box

Featuring: Double Z Fold Card, 3D, Grateful Bunch, Blossom Bunch punch

Today I would like to show you a card that is a slightly different take on a Double Z Fold (which I love doing by the way). Here are some samples. Here and Here of some I have done previously.

What do you think of my hybrid Double Z Fold to go with my Detailed Floral Thinlets Box I made last time? Greens, oranges and browns...reminds me of the 70's! haha.
( I have seen similar ideas on Pinterest)

I have made a little box filled with flowers to fit into the corner of the fold.
So when you open the card the box and flowers pop out.

I created a box shape (with no lid or base) out of Crumbcake card stock and stamped in Choc Chip Ink with the Woodgrain Background Stamp.

The box is 6cm x 6cm.
28cm x 5cm - scored at 6cm, 12cm, 18cm, 24cm.
Inside I placed 3 small strips 1.5cm x 9cm. Scored at 1.5cm, 7.5cm.

Flowers from the Grateful Bunch stamp set and Blossom Punch Bunch. Leaves from Botanical Gardens.
Colours: Cucumber Crush, Mint Macron, Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango.
Also used the Metallic Gold Enamel Shapes in centres of flowers.
The Enamel Shapes are so nice to use.

And If you love doing jigsaw puzzles this technique of adding colour to your detailed floral thinlet will be right up your alley.

I cut the original piece in Cucumber Crush and mounted it onto a Mint Macaron base.
Then I cut out two more Detailed Floral Thinlets. One in Peekaboo Peach and the other in Tangerine Tango. I glued in the pieces to my Cucumber Crush piece to create my multi coloured picture.
Added Wink of Stella for some final sparkle. (and cause i just love it on everything!)

Words from Beautiful You Stamp Set and Vertical Greetings.
And here is the set together.

Hope you enjoyed my post today.
Look forward to you stopping by again to check out what is new on my craft table.
Until next time. Vx

Detailed Floral Thinlets box

Featuring: Detailed Floral Thinlets, 3D, Box, Grateful Bunch Stamp Set, Photo Tutorial.

As promised I have some measurements and photos for you on how to make the Detailed Floral Thinlets Box from my previous post. Here.

ALL PICTURES CAN BE BLOWN UP TO A BIGGER SIZE BY CLICKING ON THEM.

Cardstock: Cucumber Crush and Peekaboo Peach.
Measurements: 26cm x 15cm.
Score - on the 15cm side at 6cm - this will be your base.
Score - on the 26cm side at 1cm, 7cm, 13cm, 19cm, 25cm -

Place your thinlet in the centre of the 7cm and then the 19cm score line and cut out as shown below.

Fold up all the score lines and cut as shown. (Sorry I just realised I didn't put in the picture above to cut the score lines to the 6cm line (on the Base) but you can see in the photo below what I did.

Fold the whole piece in half at the 13cm (middle) score line.
Put Tear and Tape adhesive onto the two ends.
One piece on the outside and the other side put it on the inside as below.

Fold the top piece that has the Tear and Tape on the Outside under.
It should now look like this.
Fold the outside piece over and attach.

Now you have the box shape it is time to fold all the four base pieces together and glue each one down.

 Time for a lid.
The lid is 9cm x 9cm
Scored at 1.4cm on each side.
Cut as shown and glue side pieces.
Oh yes, I added some colour to the inside on the box this time.
with an insert of Peekaboo Peach.
The insert is 8.5cm x 24cm
Because the insert needs to be just a few millimetres smaller than the outside of the box I worked it on 5.7cm between each score/fold - therefore the measurements below might appear a bit odd but they worked for me.
scored at 5.7cm, 11.4cm, 17.1cm, 22.8cm
A Tip: for placing the insert inside your box. Fold in one corner to make a triangle - slip inside and open out to the square shape.

Then for the decoration of the lid, using Grateful Bunch Stampset and Blossom Bunch Punch.

Of course I didn't stop there...I had to go and make a card to match...
pop back again next time and I will show you what I did with a double Z fold card.

Thanks for stopping by. Vx
