Oh what Joy(fold) Sitting Here in a Pop of Pink!

Well I have a complaint! I am supposed to be shopping for much need groceries right now...but what have I been doing instead????
Playing along with the Watercooler Gang! Sigh!
Oh dear oh dear....big mistake checking out their Challenge this morning.
You can click here to see it. Water Cooler Challenge. WWC70

I just loved the Sketch Challenge from Marsha this week but OH NO...I only have hours before it closes if I want to join in!!!

So instead of replenishing the food cupboard I have been playing with my new Sitting Here Stamp Set p.100 and the Grateful Bunch flowers and punch p.94.
And the new Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Paper on p. 172.

yes...I do know the words aren't straight and that is already driving me crazy! LOL. So I think I will stamp them again on a piece of whisper white. Cut them out and pop them up on top of the crooked one. Just don't have time to do that now. So you will have to imagine that it is done. Okay.
This card is a Joy Fold Card.
The centre piece opens up like a card within a card. Nifty.
It opens like this.

The largest flower holds it lightly closed.

Do you like the puffy cushions? You just use a rounded end of something. I used our Die Brush p.190. It has a lovely large round end. Place your paper cushions onto a soft surface like our Stampin Pierce Mat. p.183. Roll the rounded end over your cushions a few timesand they become beautifully curved. Then place a dimensional on them and pop them on your chair.
So there you are we might be starving in this house but hey... we have a pretty card to admire while we do it. LOL!
Now it is really time for Old Mother Hubbard to go out and get those dreaded groceries.
I mean really.. a choice between grocery shopping and card making...which one is gonna win?
No competition really. haha.
Especially on a day like today which is blowing a gale outside. I would much rather be sitting here amongst the flowers don't you think?
Thanks for a great Sketch Challenge Watercooler Gang.
And thanks for stopping by everyone.
Have a great day.

Grateful Bunch and Number of Years.

I bought the cutest little pot plant holder for my friend's birthday the other day.
And because I just love "themed" birthday gifts and cards I had to try and match up her card as well.

How do you think I did?

I loved the way this card came together.
I started with Lost Lagoon and Tangerine Tango for my card stock.
The designer paper background were retired pieces.

I stamped a lovely bouquet of flowers from the Number of Years Stamp set in Mossy Meadow,Lost Lagoon, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry.
Then I punched out some little flowers and a couple of leaves from the retired Bird Builder Punch and retired Itty Bitty Punch Set.

Retired teapot from Cups and Kettles Framelits was placed at the bottom of the bouquet with dimensionals to pop it up a bit.
Butterflies, Flower on the Teapot and the Lace under it is from Grateful Bunch Stamp Set.

Greetings are from Number of Years (p.136) and Grateful Bunch Stamp Set.(p.94)

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by.

Put the Billy on to Boil! New Catalogue to View!

A very busy month indeed and more to come.
But today is a very special day in the Stampin Up Calendar! Today is the beginning of a New Catalogue.  The Stampin Up Inspiration Catalogue 2016-2017! (click here)

And I could not go past today without a "blog post" to celebrate.

I am super-excited about the New Catalogue and ....
Oh I super-excited to show this card to you.
(I did make it a little while ago and a couple of items are retired but not too many and I have given substitute ideas for them where possible.)

I made it for an American friend hence the need for a "super Aussie" theme.
And of course... the Botanicals Suite, stamps, dies and paper seemed just the perfect combination for a bush setting.(p.142 of the New Catalogue 2016-2017)
Complete with Gumnut blossom and wattle flowers among others.
This time I was using my little pocket card to pop a Tea bag in so that is where the inspiration for the Billy can and the blue and white enamel camping mug (do you remember those?) came into it.

The computer generated saying inside says"G'day Mate! Boil the Billy....and have a cuppa on me!"

I made the Gumnut with the Bow Builder Punch (p.188 of the New Catalogue) and a flower framelit from the Botanical Builder set.
Using Crumbcake and Soft Suede and Watermelon Wonder for the flower. Can you see the stamping on the gumnut? It is the leaf stamp just like the Old Olive leaves it is sitting on.

I began with retired Mossy Meadow (but you can substitute this for Always Artichoke) for my card and stamped some leaf designs from Botanical Blooms in White Craft ink. Then I added details to leaves with Mossy Meadow ink.

The Botanical Builder Framelits Dies gave me my 3D pieces for the card. (p.26)
Wattle Flowers in Daffodil Yellow.
I loved using the It's my  retired Party Enamel dots on the flowers too. The good news is that we now have Enamel Shapes p.177 with lots of colours to choose from.

And what about the Billycan and the Enamel Cup???
They are from the retired Cups and Kettles Framelits Dies.
(missed out on the framelits - no problem...subsitute with small rectangle shape and for the cup handle use two different size circle or oval punches)
The blue dots were made with Pacific Point ink using the Timeless Texture stamp set.
(and I just hand drew the line at the top and bottom of the mug with a Stampin Write marker in Pacific Point).

I added the Deco Framelits at the bottom for a decorative edge to the card in both retired Botanicals dsp and Old Olive Cardstock.

I did actually find some Twinings Australian Afternoon Tea - Teabags which was better to pop inside than the old Twinings English Breakfast! More in keeping with the whole Aussie Theme.

Well that is all for today. I think I have spent enough time boasting about my little Aussie Creation.
I hope you have enjoyed it. But I think it must be time to go and Boil the Billy myself.

Until next time.
