A "Smile" for you.

Sometimes a card just makes me smile.
It lifts my spirits.
That is what this little Birthday Blossoms Gift Card does.
It took no time to make.
But it is a "Happy Card"
So I just wanted to share it with you and maybe give you a smile too.

And that is all I am sharing today. Not much I know, but I am in the middle of prepping for my Holiday Catalogue Launch this weekend. (so heaps of cards to share next week)

Thanks for stopping in. VX

In Colour Butterfly Basics

I came across this card the other day and realised I hadn't shown it to you yet.
This one is done using the new In Colours
Mint Macaroon, Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Watermelon Wonder and Tip Top Taupe.

Also the lovely Butterfly Basics Stamp Set.

I thought this was a really good showcase of the colours. I really like the Watermelon Wonder and the two green colours, Cucumber Crush and Mint Macaroon, myself.

What is your favourite new In Colour???

Why not have a play with some new colours today? You might be surprised and fall in love with a new colour.

Happy Stamping.
Thanks for stopping by.

Interesting Diamond Fold

This is a called an Upright Diamond Fold Card.
I found it on Pinterest posted by Jennie.
When you click on the link she gives for the info on how to make it - it didn't go anywhere. But I was determined to give it a try anyway.
So I just played around with some card stock and the picture I saw on Pinterest and this is what I came up with.

The belly-band holds it together.

Here is a bit of a side view. You can see how the Diamond piece springs forward.

So as you open the diamond from the front.
I used stamps from Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set. Elegant Eggplant, whisper White, and Retired designer paper, plus some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Cardstock.

You get the inside view. I decided to carry my flower theme into the inside panel.

Here is the card laid out flat with the front view

And turn it over and you can see the inside view.

And just for you I cut out a template and wrote some instructions.
You can click on any of these photos to enlarge them for better reading.
The piece of card stock I started with is 24cm x 15cm rectangle.
Score at each measurement. 2cm, then 5.5cm between each score.
So it would be 2cm, 7.5cm, 13cm, 18.5cm.
Then diagonally across 7.5cm to 18.5cm. as shown.

On this end you have to find the centre at the end (7.5cm) and cut from the 18.5cm mark

A view of the Mountain/Valley folds as the card is closing.

Add a piece of card stock to the inside 2cm back piece 10.5cm and this will be the back of the card.

You can decorate the card with designer paper or your own stamping creations. Make a belly band to fit around the card and decorate with designer paper and punched out elements.

Now this is a very special 50th Birthday card that was sent to my friend Carolyn. She just loves the colour purple and butterflies so I did my best even though I do struggle with the colour purple. LOL.

I actually liked making this card believe it or not and already plan to make another one for another special birthday girl. Stay tuned.

In the meantime. Happy Stamping.

Hope you have a Purrrrfect Day!

Hands up if you have a "Cat Friend".
(This is someone who loves cats)
I have a few people who have more than one Feline Friend living at their home with them.
Not me...I am more a Dog Person myself. Though growing up we always had at least one cat in the house.
So when I saw these cute cats made with the Banner Framelits I just knew I had to make some for myself.
The original ones I saw were on Pinterest by Dianne Roberts. Her's were done in Crumbcake.

But I tend to go for a bit of colour. So this is my Moggy Version, Black, Ginger (Pumpkin Pie) and White Cat.

Then I decided they would like a mouse to play with. So a couple of circle punches later I had my little mouse. (hearts for feet and ear from Owl Builder Punch).

I thought the mouses tail would be great to underscore the little greeting but then how to hold the bakers twine on????? I added a few glue dots and covered in three rhinestones at the end of the tail.

I stamped the greetings and flowers from Birthday Blossoms. Paper is from the Pretty Petals Designer Paper Stack used with Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral Cardstock.

So do you love my little family of Kitty Cats? I think the Black one is an old grumpy cat, the ginger one is a bit silly and the white one is a little naughty. (you have to watch him! hehe.)
I used embossing folders to give each of them texture. Tiny Triangles, Woodgrain and retired Fancy Fan. The cats eyes are yellow.I just coloured in the diamantes with a yellow sharpie. Bakers twine fanned out for the whiskers with a bit of the new gold thread as well.
This was really fun to do.
And while we are on the subject of fun and animals.
A few pictures of our day out at the Brisbane Show Day this week.

Thanks for stopping by. See you next time. Vx

Let's get Inky!

I just saw a fantastic youtube video by Ruth Trice, using a custom made multi-coloured ink pad.
While I have done this kind of technique before I loved the colours and stamps she used so just had to  give it a go myself.
I kept with the Lost Lagoon, Crumbcake and Early Expresso Colours.

You create a multi-coloured ink pad using some kitchen towel folded up - I used three folded in half on a plastic lid. (Or even baby wipes work if you would rather.)
Using my re inkers-
I created two seperate circles of Crumbcake ink about 2 cm wide. Then around them I placed Lost Lagoon Ink. Around that I did Early Expresso Ink. By this time both circles were joined together.

Now I had my custom ink pad made I could start stamping.

I inked the leaves from Kinda Eclectic p.127. all the way up a 9.5cm x 13.5 cm piece of Whisper White.

Then I used the custom ink pad to stamp some flowers from Flowershop Stamp Set. p.126.
Punch these with the Pansy Punch and use the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Set to make some Early Expresso Flower Centres and some Lost Lagoon little flowers on the leaves.

Stamp some spots from Gorgeous Grunge onto the card. Add a sentiment on Crumbcake punched with the large oval punch.
I also used some of the new gold metallic thread p.159 around the sentiment for interest. Little leaves are from the Bird Builder Punch.

I just loved the way this turned out!

So there was still plenty of ink in the home made ink pad - I just had to do it again! LOL!
But a little bit different - of course!

This time I used the retired Dictionary Background Stamp in Crumbcake ink. Then stamped the leaves on top. I used the Sunray stamp from Kinda Eclectic in the corner and just stamped and punched my flower selection from Flowershop and Petite Petals.

The cut out set of leaves and sentiment are from Birthday Blossoms.

So two cards made - the same but different!

I think swapping the Lost Lagoon withe Blushing Bride would look lovely too. Why not give it a go yourself? Happy Inking.

Bye for now. VX

Dots for Days

So I just love this lovely dotty, spotty background stamp...I had to go all the way with my latest card.

Come and see this lovely dotty card that features the Dots for Days Background Stamp and the Flower Patch Stamp Set and matching framelits

I am so pleased with the colours.
Pacific Point, Cucumber Crush and Dijon Mustard (hehe. just my joke!) I mean Delightful Dijon.
 and Real Red.
I really love the greetings in this stamp set. "You Overwhelm Me with Your Awesomeness",
I can think of quite a few people I could send this card to....think I will have to make a few more!

Can you see I stamped in Delightful Dijon with my Dots for Days Stamp over the top of the flowers?
I liked the way this blended them in with the background.

While I had my Dots for Days Stamp out I thought I might make a couple of thankyou gift cards for my customers. Using some of the new thick Whisper White Cardstock I cut out some 7cm x 14cm cards and stamped in Blushing Bride. I stamped Pacific Point onto the Pansy Punch flowers and added a punched boho blossom. The sentiment, little flower in the centre and leaves are from the Flower Patch Stamp Set.

Only one word for my new Dots for Days Stamp and that is.....

Happy Stamping - why not go a bit Dotty for the Day! haha.

See you all soon. Vx

Going Dotty.

Do you ever change your mind at the last minute?
Placing an order the other day I went totally crazy and ordered something that wasn't even on my list!!"What!!"
For some reason I cannot explain I suddenly had a huge need to order the Dots for Days big Background Stamp! page 129
I just kept thinking it would be soooooo "useful"!
I do rather like Background stamps.

So as soon as I got it I had to make something - fast!!!

I inked it up with four coloured inkpads: Blushing Bride, Daffodil Yellow, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder.
Then stamped it onto Whisper White for a lovely multi-coloured background.
The butterflies I already had in my stash are from the retired Beautiful Wings Embosslits set.

The coloured dots dsp was from the retired Taffy dsp. and I used my Birthday Blossoms Stamp set for the words.

I mounted it onto some Pool Party Cardstock for the base of the card and added lovely pearls for interest.
Rather sweet I thought and super quick!

So now I have a few minutes I thought I would share with you a few photos of the Company House in Gatton. It is attached to a farm which is growing broccoli at the moment. We took Rosie out for the weekend. It is an old Queenslander.

 Breakfast with the broccoli.

All polished wood floors it needs a heater in winter. Brrrr.
Rosie "I want to go for a walk Dad!"

Taking Rosie for a walk to see the broccoli.

And this is the best bit. A desk just asking for me to cover it in craft stuff! Don't you think so!!!

Have a good day and thanks for stopping by. Vx
