Scrap Quilting

Well I know I did promise to show another card using that paper quilting technique... But... I had these left over scraps of 2cm squares.
Today I wanted to show you what I did with my left over scraps.
After I had finished making my Country Christmas Card
I nearly threw them in the bin! Gasp! When I suddenly thought of another card I could make with them.
I took a piece of white cardstock 10cm x 14cm and glued them all down to make a quilting pattern. When I was finished there was a bit of white cardstock showing so I just cut that off to get my correct quilt size.
Then I ran it through the Lattice Embossing Folder.

I then inked around the edges with early expresso ink. Mounted the quilt on Cherry Cobbler and used a Soft Suede card base.
I used a new Christmas single stamp called Magical Season some 1/8 inch taffeta early expresso ribbon and a dazzling! Frosted Finishes Embellishment (you just gotta get some of these little beauties! They are gorgeous!)
I popped the snowflake embellishment behind a 7/8 inch scallop circle to help highlight it.

So there is a quick and easy card and best of all it uses up some scraps too! If you would like to order any of these items just let me know or visit my online shop.

Weekend Fun
We had a great weekend last week. Celebrating our youngest turning 21. We all went for breakfast at the Coffee Club with him. In the afternoon hubby and I went for a bike ride down at Wynnum. A seaside town on the east side of Brisbane.  It was such a beautiful day you just couldn't stay indoors!
I am not that much of a bike rider myself. Probably should have "L" plates attached LOL. But it is fun to get out and do something a bit different every now and then. And of course you can then reward yourself with a nice cuppa and apple pie at the end of it. hehe.

It was quite windy down there and there were lots of sailing boats bobbing about on the water in the bay. Very colourful to watch.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend. It is a long weekend for us here. Monday October 7th is Labour Day so I am sure I will have some extra photos to share with you next week.
See you then, and I promise I will have another special quilting card to show you next time.

  2. I laughed when I read your comment on my blog! :) Thanks fro stopping by. I LOVE your scraps card! If I hunt through the scraps on my desk I might be able to make a similar one! Lol! And I so agree about those beautiful snowflake embellishments. I heard one lady say she could make earrings out f them. They sure are pretty enough to do that! You are very inspiring with your bike riding and walking, Vicki. Lovely photos too. Have a great long weekend!
