Dress Form Framelits and a Delicate Details Lace Tip.

OK so I know I have been on a bit of a Dress Cardmaking Roll at the moment but I had to just show you what you can do with the Dress Form framelit on it's own.

I just loved using the dress form on this card.
I used the Designer series paper from Print Poetry and this piece is actually a sewing guide print would you believe! I got right into the "sewing" theme and attached some stitched grosgrain ribbon and a fabric trim flower for added interest. I love those words from Loving Thoughts, don't you?

I also did a vintage style card using this dress form. Come and have a look.

I have used Rich Razzleberry for my base card. Ink used was Rich Razzleberry, Choc Chip and Early Expresso.
The designer paper is First Edition Specialty paper from the main catalogue and Tea for Two Designer paper from the mini.
The pink pirouette scalloped oval is cut in half and embossed with Lacy Brocade Emboss Folder.
I stamped the two butterflies and layered them to give a nice 3d effect.

Here is a close up of the dress form. Can you see I have had fun stamping on it with Established Elegance Stamp Set and adding a little fabric flower trim for good measure.

If you look closely you can see a pattern down one side of the dress form. Would you like to know how I did that?
Yes! I have used some Delicate Details Lace Tape. (page. 3 of the mini catalogue)
This stuff is great for masking as it has a plastic finish. It can easily be removed when finished with and wiped clean. The ink comes straight off.

This piece has been used at least 6 times already and it looks as good as new! It doesn't tear the cardstock either when you remove it.

I just sponged some ink over with a sponge dauber like so.

Then remove lace tape. Voila!
Add some extra detailed stamping if you require and ink around edges.

So that is my little tip for the day. Hope you liked it.
Come again soon. I have some Mother's Day Cards to show this week.

Here Comes the Bride.

How could I resist trying a Wedding Card with the Dress Framelits?
I couldn't of course!
This card was inspired by one I saw by Petronella.
I just had so much fun making it.
I used a small piece of the beautiful lace in the Artisan Embellishment Pack for the bodice.
It was so pretty I didn't want to hide any of it so decided this wedding gown would be a drop waist style, with the lovely flower trim it looks very "frothy" doesn't it?
Then I went a bit crazy with the pearls but I think it works. hehe.
I love the peek through oval window. Here is a look inside for you. I have used Happy I do Day from the Word Play Stamp Set and the Music Notes Wheel.
Note that you need to cut another dress form for the back of your dress as it shows through on the inside and you don't want bits of lace and ribbon looking messy from the other side.

Did you have a good ANZAC Day yesterday. The weather was certainly perfect.
Every year for a long time now we have gotten up at 4am (Yes that is what I said! haha,) and driven half a sleep, cold and in the dark to the Dawn Service at Cleveland. Which usually starts at 5.30am.
It is a really lovely time and a beautiful service. A time to remember all those who have served and do serve this wonderful country in such a courageous way. A time to honour those who have fought and died to uphold our freedom.
Anyway would you believe this year we didn't go. I am so sad about that. I had one of those nights I just couldn't sleep and was still awake at 4am. I knew if I went I would be a mess so decided it was better to stay home this year. sigh.
I did fall asleep about 5am and woke at 10am!

Have a good weekend and please pop back again next week. Shall I try your patience and show yet another Dress Form Card?????? Hmmmm?????? hehe.
I do have a cool vintage one I want to show.

Until next time. Keep those comments coming. I love hearing from you.

All Dressed Up Again.

Well here I am again ready to show you another dress from my growing "wardrobe" of All Dressed Up Framelits Cards!
Yes, another pleated dress using the gorgeous Print Poetry Designer Paper. I like the one I made for the Hostess so much I just had to make one for myself. hehe.
This time I used the Labels Framelits and the Oval Framelits behind the dress.
Close up of the bodice. Pearls at the neckline. Choc Chip Taffeta ribbon and Night of Navy thin taffeta ribbon round the waist.

And now for another dress, this time with a tropical flavour.
Still using the Print Poetry Designer Paper, I have used a few other elements from the new mini as well.
Feels Good Stamp Set.

Cloudy Day Embossing Folder for background.
And the Secret Garden Framelits.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you can come back again soon I still want to show even more additions to my wardrobe!

Home Again and All Dressed Up.

I have been away on a week's break to Sydney. Staying at the Novatel Brighton Le Sands.

It is only a short train ride to the city centre. Here are some Sydney City Snapshots for you.
The Sydney Sky Tower.
Beautiful Sydney Opera House.
Sydney Harbour Bridge
Luna Park
Me in the Queen Victoria Building. (before I became loaded down with shopping bags. hehe.)

Now I am back I want to show you what I have been doing with the Dress Up framelits. p.32 of the mini.

I really wasn't sure if I would do much with them but let me tell you... once you start playing it is just so hard to stop!
Here is a card I made for the Hostess at my last workshop.
Cardstock: Regal Rose and Summer Starfruit.
Print Poetry Designer Paper Stack

I pleated a piece of designer paper and placed on top of the dress to give a more 3 dimensional look.

I used a  coathanger paper clip from the Cute Clips Set (p.28 mini) and pearls around the neckline. At the waist I wrapped some rose red ribbon from the Artisan's Embellishment Pack and Regal Rose thin taffeta ribbon.
Here's To You - Friendly Phrases Stamp Set was stamped on banners from the Hearts A Flutter Framelits Set.
At the bottom I used some Delicate Details Lace Tape and little punched flowers in Summer Starfruit.
The pink lace peaking from under the hem is from the Artisan's Embellishment pack.

Of course what better way to compliment the perfect Party Dress than with a matching bag.
Petite Purse Die (p.194 main catalogue).
The little bag was my gift to the Hostess and held some Lip gloss and two chocolates.
Can you see the cute little teacup charm I added to the side?
And here is the gift complete.

I hope the Hostess liked her special Thank You Gift. I certainly had fun making it! Stay tuned for more dress up cards. You just can't stop at one!!

Until next time. Vx

Tiny, Itty Bitty Thankyous

While I am away this week I thought I would schedule a post in advance for you. (just to see if it works!)

I always put little thankyou cards in with the customer order and this week I thought I would show you some I have made recently.

I originally saw the cutest card by Vicky Hayes using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Flower and wanted to create something similar for my own Thank you cards.
I thought it would be a good idea to start using up some of the colours that we are saying goodbye to when the 2013/2014 Catalogue comes out in July too.

This is what I came up with. Main Card 7cm x 7cm in Regal Rose. Very Vanilla Matt 6cm x 6cm
I was really happy with how they turned out.
I used the Tiny Tags vine stamp in Certain Celery and layered the Itty Bitty Punch Flowers on top in Regal Rose, Bashful Blue and Daffodil Yellow. The Thankyou is from Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set.

These colours remind me of Spring. A much warmer time of the year. Our Autumn weather has come upon us now with much cooler days and nights. Brrr.... time to dig out the winter woolies.

Until next time. Vx

Happy Anniversary

Guess who is having a Wedding Anniversary this weekend?
Yes it is Moi!
So I have been busy creating a special card for the my Sweetheart.
One that truly represents how far we have come together over the years.
A card that sums up everything  we mean to one another...

Hehe... so what do you think?Aren't they the cutest! I have seen a couple of Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head cards around over the past year or so. I got my idea for these ones from  Ellen Kemper who is a very clever punch artist.
An Easel card with lots of layers. Can you guess what punch I used to make the bodies for Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head?
Owl Punch - by Stampin' Up!
The Owl Punch! How versatile is that little punch. p. 185 of the main catalogue.
Here is a look at the inside.(which nearly became a disaster) I went to stamp the words inside the card and the bloomin' stamp fell off the block!! Ahhhh...!!! So I covered the mess with lots of hearts and re stamped onto a piece of white cardstock. Then cut it up a bit and stuck it down. Problem Solved! Phew.

Cardstock used for easel card.
Black, white, Pacific Point, Real Read, Tangerine Tango, Sycamore Street dsp (saleabration), the lacey red heart is from the More Amore Specialty Designer Paper in the Current Mini.
I used the Windows Frames Collection Framelits and the Bigz Die large Circle Scallop.

I will be back in a week. See you then!

Please leave a comment if you liked my card or have any questions and I will be happy to answer them for you.
